Guiding people to fully live as followers of Jesus
Peace Mosaic

The Peace Church Mosaic is all about making disciples. God's Word is His revelation of Himself and his plan for the world which He has created. The Word communicates God's great love for people and how He gives Himself completely - namely, His only Son, Jesus - to save us from the sin which would destroy us. Through His written Word, the Bible, God guides us to the grace and truth that is found in the living Word.

Word [2 Timothy 3:15-17; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12; Isaiah 55:10-11] God's Word is His revelation of Himself and his plan for the world which He has created. The Word communicates God's great love for people and how He gives Himself completely - namely, His only Son, Jesus - to save us from the sin which would destroy us. Through His written Word, the Bible, God guides us to the grace and truth that is found in the living Word, Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit works through the Word to create faith and new relationship with God through which we are transformed to become more like Jesus. It is through the Bible that we receive "spiritual food" to sustain and strengthen faith, God's wisdom to guide our lives in community with other Christians, and inspiration to risk ourselves more completely for God's Kingdom. The Bible is our primary resource in guiding and being guided as the Holy Spirit leads us to fully live as followers of Jesus.

Worship [Psalm 100:1-5; Revelation 5:13; Luke 2:36-37; Romans 12:1] One of the key ways we grow to fully live as followers of Jesus is through our worship - not only the songs that we sing for one hour on Sunday, but the kind of worship in which we daily receive from God and respond with prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. It is a 24-7 lifestyle, not done out of command or obligation, but out of a grateful response to a gracious and life-giving God, and in preparation for an eternity of rejoicing in His presence. When we gather as the body of Christ to worship Him as one assembly - to hear His Word, to receive His forgiveness, to dine at His table - we are empowered to glorify him with our entire lives: serving, loving our neighbors, pursuing healthy relationships, and sharing our witness with the world.

Mission [Matthew 28:16-20; Romans 10:14-17; Mark 10:42-45; Luke 12:13-21] "For the followers of Jesus the final risk is gone." Jesus has assured us that death has no power over us and that by faith we possess eternal life with Him. Jesus commands his church to take this message to the very ends of the earth that all people might come to believeporting, affirming, and encouraging one another to faithfully follow Jesus...

Groups [Hebrews 10:23-25; Colossians 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians. 5:9-11; John 13:34-35] The Christian life is not meant to be a solitary endeavor; rather it is to be lived out in community with other Christians. Through our relationships with one another we have the opportunity to guide others and to be guided in our walk with Jesus. Group life enables us to share life deeply with other Christians as we develop authentic community, supporting, affirming, and encouraging one another to faithfully follow Jesus. Together we apply God's Word to our lives, we learn to practice compassion, and we empower each other to serve with the love of Jesus. The Holy Spirit works through the Peace community to transform our lives so that individually and collectively, we more fully show forth the love of Jesus to the world.
