Monday - Isaiah 7:10-20

In this passage, we get a prophecy of the coming Messiah. What would it have been like to receive this prophecy, but not know when Jesus would appear? How can you reflect this Advent on the waiting for the Messiah?

Tuesday - Matthew 1:18-25

What stands out to you in this first telling of the birth of Jesus? Who do you identify most with in this narrative? The angel tells Joseph not to fear – for God had a plan for Joseph and Mary more than their wildest dreams. How can we trust God in the same way in our lives?

Wednesday - Luke 2:25-35

Simeon’s faith is inspiring – the Holy Spirit guided him to Jesus. How can we follow the Holy Spirit in our lives? What can we learn from Simeon?

Thursday - John 1:14-18

The Word became flesh. Take time today to reflect on the Word incarnate, Jesus Christ, coming to live and dwell with us. What does that say about how God sees us? How can we live a life reflecting that love and cherishment?

Friday - John 3:31-36

The power and magnitude of Jesus is evident in Scripture. What does your relationship with Jesus look like? How do you communicate with God? Take time today to worship Jesus, God incarnate – and praise Him for eternal life.
