Learning to live without lying and vainglory... The state of our hearts and the perceptions of others sometimes do not match. We can put on a show with our words and actions, effectively tricking those around us into thinking we are something we are not. But there are always situations that start to show our cracks and flaws. How can we escape the trap of lies and looks to live genuinely and authentically as believers in Jesus? Today we will listen to Jesus' call to seek him with all honesty and transparency.

Monday | Isaiah 66:1-2

Everything is God’s, and under God’s control. How should we orient ourselves toward God, toward God’s Word, and toward the words we say?

Tuesday | James 5:11-12

We can get caught in our words when we are not living in the truth. What words do you regret saying? What promises or pledges are you failing to keep?

Wednesday | Matthew 26:73-75

Peter heard Jesus’ teaching, but still swore to God that he didn’t know Jesus. How do you respond when you don’t live according to Jesus’ way? What do you avoid when you live in the truth?

Thursday | Matthew 6:1-2

What is the difference between an earthly reward and a heavenly reward? Why do you think the reward from our Father in heaven is better?

Friday | Matthew 10:40-42

What things are you doing for no one’s recognition? How are you caring for people when no one’s watching?
