The Good and Beautiful Life
We have needs. We have a lot of needs. Often, these needs feel very pressing and can make us desperate- either to get more or hold tightly to what we already have. Fear and worry drive us to live without trusting Jesus and seeking His Kingdom. Today, we learn to deprive ourselves of worry and this desire for more so that we can overwhelm our hearts with gratitude to God for what He has done in Christ.
Monday | Matthew 6:33-34
What troubles you about tomorrow? How can you allow yourself to leave it for tomorrow? What troubles you about today? How can you submit it to Jesus and His Kingdom?
Tuesday | James 4:13-15
What wisdom does this give us as we number our days? How does living in the Lord’s will and forsaking our own empower us to enjoy today?
Wednesday | Philippians 3:7-10
What things or statuses (not people) do you count as valuable to your identity? How do they compare with knowing Jesus and having resurrection hope?
Thursday | Psalm 56: 3-4
What causes fear for you right now? How is it impacting your daily life? Why do you think trusting God is an antidote to worry?
Friday | Philippians 4:6-7
Where do you turn for relief from worry? How bad must it get before you turn to prayer? How can you make prayer your first action when you face worry?
