Week of July 15, 2024
Monday | Ephesians 1:1-14
What do you think of when you read that God has given us “every spiritual blessing”? How does this truth bring you comfort and hope? What are the spiritual blessings that you see in the rest of this section? List them out and reflect on their significance for you personally.
Tuesday | Ephesians 1:15-23
Paul prays for Christ followers to know and experience more of God’s wisdom, hope, and power. What do you think you need from God most right now, in order to stand firm in your faith and follow Jesus closely? This week, try reading Paul’s prayer in verses 17-20 as your own personal prayer request. (change the pronouns to make it a prayer for you.)
Wednesday | Romans 8:28-30; 1 Thessalonians 1:2-7
The idea of you being chosen by God and predestined for salvation and life with Him is found in these verses as well. Why is this important to Paul? Why is it important to you to know that God has chosen you for salvation in Christ? What does Paul say are the indications that show you have been chosen by God?
Thursday | John 15:12-21
In preparing His disciples for life ahead as His followers, Jesus reminds them that they were chosen by Him. The same is true for all of us who have faith in Jesus. How does it help you to follow Jesus, knowing that He chose you? What does Jesus say that you have been chosen for? What does that look like in your life right now?
Friday | Colossians 3:12-17
We are chosen to be different than those who do not know the Lord. What does Paul say is the proper life response of one who is chosen by God? Which of these descriptors do you relate to? Which do you need more help from the Holy Spirit to make more a part of your life?
